Hi could anyone suggest please a ski to use for adult race training on a dry slope? I ski but not done any racing and not much on dry slope. I’m a woman 165cm and 57kg. Was thinking I’d get some second hand only to use at the dry slope thanks!

We all use 155cm or thereabouts slalom skis. 11/12M radius. Ladies FIS skis work really well. You will need to keep them very sharp. If you are just starting, then any narrow piste oriented ski (less than 70mm ride, 13m or less radius, less that 160cm) will work before getting on a stiffer race ski...also keep them sharp..

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would look at 149 dynastar or 152 Atomic Junior slalom ski given your height and weight. A 155 or 157 World cup womens FIS ski will be too stiff for you in all honesty. Fast U18 and U 21 men will use a womens FIS ski as they have the power and speed to bend the ski

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Yes makes sense thank you.. I’ve seen a fisher RC4 RCS 150cm 68mm 13m radius, too much? I normally ski a montero ax 163 or a blizzard sheeva 9 164. never raced but looking forward to it

+1
In my wife’s short duration dry slope racing career, at 55kg she was on 149 junior SL skis.

I’m on a 149 Rossi slalom ski as a similar (bit shorter) height to you, they are ideal but do need to look after the bases and edges every other week or so.

@P17hae, every other week for the edges!? Mine were basically 1 run per edge and they were too blunt back when I did some very bad racing a couple of years back.

I only go every other week in fairness - for training they last me a session (2 hrs)
For racing obviously they are done fresh.

I don’t know where you are, but I would recommend ski Bartlett if you are in the south or ski race supplies if you are in the north.
Will cater for all your racing needs and give great advice
