Poster: A snowHead

Does anyone have any experience hiring back country kit (avy pack, transceiver etc) in Sauze?. I can't seem to find anything online.
I recently discovered this was the law in Italy, it's my first time boarding there so I'm glad I found out before heading out into the tree runs.
Any info would be great!
Thanks

Without checking, IIRC etc, it's regional, some regions do some don't, so you'll need to confirm if it applies to ViaLattea.
A decent quality enough new aluminium shovel and probe can be had online (eBay), I paid less than £30 for mine (probe is military surplus, lol). That just leaves the transceiver, which these guys sometimes have on offer, but again check online as well. By the time you've hired it a couple of times you could probably have bought it.
Above the treeline at Sauze, heading towards the Sestriere side, there's loads of wide open off trail runs easily accessed off the two lifts, but being moving carpets they're not the fastest. At the top end of Sestriere also, towards Pragelatto, there's some easy stuff off the sides of the trails. If you're ever considering terrain that you're not 100% on, you need avi gear whether it's the law or not.
Normal caveats apply in the application of this advice .....
Enjoy your trip.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@BCjohnny,
Thanks for the info, appreciated. I'd never consider heading out into terrain I was unsure of without the appropriate safeguards, I'll take my chances with hiring something in resort.
Cheers.
