Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Italy - Turin - resorts nearby for family?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and ideas. Not sure I am any clearer 🤔, but can look into suggestions more closely with cost no doubt being a major contributing factor. (Already seen that Cervinia is about €200 more expensive than La Thuile for a 6 day lift pass -2 adults, 1 junior ( 7 year old goes free) . cant see prices of LP for 2016-2017 for other resorts yet.

I don't want to get hung up on piste colours but it is important that we can ski happily with our 7 year old in the afternoons and he is still very much slow snowplough. We also don't need big resort as we have only couple of hours morning ski before ski school finishes . ( plus may do a couple of lessons myself to keep up with the 10 year old😬. But also don't want to be doing same runs every morning!

Shortlist perhaps is
Cervinia
Montgenevre
La thuile
Sestriere

Thanks for ideas, still very happy to hear other suggestions or recommendations.

are you sure? that doesn't sound right, there should only be about €10 or €20 difference in the price per adult (and less for children) between any of the VDA resorts

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've not been to many places but Monty and Cervinia are amongst them.
Both relatively easy skiiing but personally would wait as late as possible and if snow is there go to Monty.
The wind in Cervinia isn't pleasant and cost me a whole days skiing.

@Hils68, We did our first DIY trip to Courmayuer via Milan earlier this year with our 11yr old son, it's not the largest ski area but enough to keep you happy for a week. Our sons lessons were 10.30 - 1.00. We were able to get a good hours skiing in with him, before dropping him off and skied with him after lunch for as long as lour legs could hold out. It's very easy to get back to the ski school meeting point from all over the resort, and the instructors waited for the parents to arrive before leaving, a few were constantly late😈, never us of course. For us ease of getting back was a major plus point and may be worth considering also.
