Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

When to move kid racer from starting 60 flex to 70?

Hi.
My 8yr old ski racer is in need of new shoes. Hi skied Dalbello Scorpions 60 for two seasons and he needs new boots.
For the first season they were probably a bit too much for him in both size and flex, but the last season he really mastered them.
I am now considering whether I shall look for the bigger size and keep flex the same, or bigger size and 70 flex?
I can not talk to coach now, since the previous coach has passed away and their team will have somebody new in Fall.
Thanks.

The ability to flex a given boot properly depends on its fit & the skiers weight/height/ability. As there's no real flex standardisation between makes/models of boots the answer to your question is the same answer that's given to all boot questions: go & see a good bootfitter snowHead

Go and see a good fitter. You'll never know what fits! Does he NEED new boots yet if he has just mastered them?

My son has been thru 3 different manufacturers, first set were Nordica Dobermans, then 3 pairs of Atomics Kids boots followed by FIS (last set ladies as they fitted better) and he is now in Head Raptors.
