Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Pettneu / St Anton - Ski Bus

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey folks, does anyone know:

1. How often the ski bus runs between the two during the day and
2. What time the ski bus service finishes in the evening?

We'll have a car, but will want to sample St Anton infamous nightlife without risking drinking and driving....

If we miss the last bus.... any ideas of taxi fare - probably 4 people, with skis (suspect some / most taxis have ski racks on the back)

Thanks,

SM

@shockingmoment, suggest you make contact with the St Anton tourist office, they'll email you a pdf timetable (it may even be on the website as a download).

They are very regular to Pettneu, you shouldn't have a problem. Taxis I'd say about 15-20€, not too bad between drunken ski buddies....

@shockingmoment, I know these are summer times, winter is a more extensive service, I'd check back on this link in October but seriously don't panic, there's plenty:-

@shockingmoment, can't remember exact details, but busses go pretty regularly all day. From memory something like every 15/20 mins around lift closing/opening times, then more like every hour from 10am or so (roughly).

The busses aren't (or weren't, anyway) very useful for apres ski - I think they stopped around 6 or so? Taxi doesn't cost much (was around €10 in 08/09, €15-20 is probably about right).

The night bus goes something like every hour until 5am I think (or again, did), but costs a couple of euros, so if you're in a group you may as well take a taxi anyway.

Regular bus is ok for immediate apres but stops around 5.45 ish. Every 15 mins at peak time IIRC Nightbus runs through Pettneu proper every hour I think if you are in the main village. Nightbus is a few Euro.

Night bus cost €5 per trip last season, Post bus single was €2.80. Last free ski bus was around 6pm, post busses ran until about 8 IIRC. Then night buses through until about 3:30am. Free busses run in Wednesday night's when the ski show is on, last one back leaves Anton about 10pm so can be a good one for making use of Après. Peak times busses are every 15 mins or so, then every half hour outside that, annoyingly the two bus lines that serve Pettneu seem to run within a couple of minutes of each other, so miss one and it's still about a half hour wait.
