Poster: A snowHead

Hi, advice needed please.
We will be flying in from Newcastle into terminal 5 Heathrow and need to get to terminal 2. I have done this many times but only ever using BA so bags are always checked through. This time it won't be possible as our outbound flight will be Air Canada.
Does anyone know the procedure/easiest way to do this?
Thanks

@graeme, why won't your bags be checked through?
Just because your on a different airline doesn't necessarily mean they won't. Unless yournflights are two different bookings?

Collect bags; take Heathrow Express to T2 (5 minutes, trains every 15 minutes, free); check-in.

Otherwise that ^
If you aren't on a connecting flight i.e. A single booking make sure you leave more than enough time ...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We have done this often and the bags are transferred to you if you put your end destination on. Flipping pain going through the security though at Heathrow when you are doing an internal (to the airport) transfer.

You'll need to Register first of course.

@under a new name, yeah separate bookings. Have plenty of time for transfers to T2
Cheers all

I'm slightly surprised, @graeme, that separate bookings were cheaper?

Although, of course, domestic UK flights are not what they used to be.

Local buses carry you free on inter terminal travel and run every ten minutes or so, just go to the bus stops outside T5 and look for the right stop.

@under a new name, tour op booking for the Heathrow to Canada flight. We are just trying to work out wether to fly or drive to Heathrow. We normally fly, but both flights are usually BA.

That is what we do, BA to Heathrow and Air Canada to Vancouver, and the bags just go straight through, no problem. When you book bags in on the BA leg they ask you where you are going and ticket it straight through. Simple.
So you just have to get yourself to the other terminal which is say too. Bags will be there. Never had a problem with the combination and done it last 5 years.
Daughter has used BA for Canadian leg and then also internal and they have had to bring a bag the day after as they have not put it on the internal flight on the way home (out has been fine). Not to mention she had to move terminal too even thought BA was supposed to just use T5 when they built it - it must now be too small.
