It is interesting how no one wore base layers until very recently. It was the evolution of skis and boots that I found fascinating rather than the clothing

What do you call recently? I've been wearing thermal base layers for as long as I can remember skiing i.e. 30+ years.

Of course back in the day, we didn't have poncy names like " thermal base layers". Called it as they were: String vest.

Loved the video! Some nice outfits pre 1965. Probably hopeless for skiing but I'd wear them for a walk out to the pub.
