Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Obergurgl ... off-piste stuff and can anyone suggest any groups/guides/instructors there?

Hey all... it's been too many years since I've been here so I'm glad to be back Smile snowHead

Me and her are off to Obergurgl on Sunday (10th) for the first time and wondered if anyone had any knowledge of the area and could suggest guides/schools/instructors?

I seem to have picked up the idea that off-piste skiing over in europe is not a good idea on your own (no avalanche control, no markings for cliffs etc)

We usually (well, used to) ski in the US and Whistler and this will be the first time skiing in Europe since I was a total beginner!
Over there I'm used to just skiing anywhere and typically try and do a group lesson/guide thing (like Extremely Canadian at Whistler) that takes me to interesting places that I may (or may not!) go back to on my own. Most definitely off the piste!

Also - if there's anyone that fancies meeting up just to be sociable then that'd be great Cool

Good to have you back matey.

I was just telling a customer a few days ago about the dangers of unseen cat-tracks and how they can remove your front teeth and here you are!

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Make sure you end your day at the Nederhutte - best apres ski venue in Obergurgl. There are several itineraries marked on the piste map but to venture further afield hire a guide from the local ski school who are very helpful. Wish I could go back!

@skilegs - sounds like a plan.

@Kelskii, got it - thanks, that's useful.

We're at the super-excited stage now ... didn't think we'd even see snow this year so it's a great bonus!
