I want to know how many kilometers is it possible to ski in one day? Please let me know your best achievements and where you have done it /which Ski resort/. My best so far is in Nassfeld, Austria, with 33 369 vertical meters and 208 downhill kilometers in one day - here is the video:

Mine's about 6000m vertical at Hemsedal. Mind you, some of the lifts are slower than glaciers. And I had to pee, eat, drink, rest, take a few drag lifts, take a "magic carpet" lift. Play in the junior snow-park a bit. Wait for my daughter who went the wrong way. Twice. Wait for my daughter to pee and play in the junior snow-park. Wait in line for the lifts (it's a national habit and I didn't want to upset the nice Norwegians). But I enjoyed myself. Now there's an idea - maximum vertical in a day using only the "magic carpet".....

Oh dear. Are you that insecure? Tedious cock-waving.
You can drive around the M25 10 times, or you can drive an interesting road?
Me doing 10000m vertical off piste in a day at Fernie is less than a third as valid as your 33000....
Competitors in the old Aspen 24 hour race would have laughed at you.
Get a life...

@stoat of the dead, the Aspen 24 hour race - was that lift based? Skinning?

THIS!!
It bores me to death listening to people c*ck wave over their distance in one day.
Id sooner hunt out those few amazing runs, share good times with friends and eat cake.
Besides, top speed is where its at and mine was 116kph on fat skis and a head wind. Obviously I could have gone faster by using my huge man piece as an additional pole to get the best start you've ever seen, but I didn't want to put those around me to shame (both on the speed and manly hood front!)

Wow frosty reception for a new poster....@Inspectah, I think my record is 61kms one day at Schladming (you get a daily printout ) - we don't often keep track. Jess
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Frosty isn't the word. Cliquey pack of c***s is probably a better.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

@thecramps, have to say that's not how I describe the guys and girls on here. Found everyone on the whole to be friendly and helpful
You know it makes sense.

@PaulC1984, Usually they are, but I was referring to the folk who replied to this thread, and they weren't at all welcoming. But if you read it different........
Oh you did.

Well it's a bit odd to introduce yourself online with "this is how big my **** is now show me yours". Certain websites excluded of course.

@thecramps, take your point but as Dave says, willy waving is never the best way to introduce yourself 😊
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

haha, quality! It can be a bit like that here!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Dave of the Marmottes, or to put another light on it,
"this is how young and enthusiastic I am for a sport I love, and I know that on this snow sports forum people will understand my enthusiasm, and I was pleased with what I did and wondered if it was really good or not".
Well he's posted an exact duplicate on epic where they are a bit less sarky obviously. I haven't had the heart to look on TGR - I suspect our welcome is like being hugged by kittens in comparision.
Or alternatively he could google a bit to see how these Vert challenge threads play out before deciding to show his hand. look on it as a free lesson in how to engage online.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Or you could just ignore it if its crap. Got to say though my beef isn't really with you on this, it is with the pack who close in behind after a well established snowhead has had a bite, although you could have not bitten beforehand.
Sometimes people deserve what they get, but sometimes it's just pack bullying and is quite unpleasant.
A free lesson on how not to behave online is being demonstrated quite well in this thread. Not by the OP though.

Wow thanks for the few who actually replied about my question instead of just displaying hate. Anyway have a nice day everybody and hopefully ski a little instead.

Nothing wrong with metrics.
I you want to master something first you need to measure it.
Everybody is free to describe their skiing achievements in whatever metrics they choose.
How many jager-bombs and pints of mutzig you managed in the Robbo, how many smlies got got with your 80's onesie, how stoked you felt after your first 360 in the la Chapelle park, how much you spent on your expensive gear, and how little difference it actually makes ( unless you race ), how deep the snow was that you got stuck in, how late into the season you ski, how many ESF instructors have grandfather rights, how many days a season you manage.
For me it is simple - how much fun I have.

While "max vertical" challenges aren't everyone's cup of tea, I must admit that I find it fun to see how much I can do in one day and it's interesting to compare what other people are doing. Be interesting to try this "max vertical" challenge at some resorts without fast lifts. See what vertical you could do all day only using drag lifts. That's gonna hurt.

Lift based. One gondola, one piste, closed to all but the participants for that 24 hours. Teams of two skiers.
I remember Martin Bell doing it one year and being shown on Ski Sunday.
I believe it has not been run since 2004.

@thecramps, +1 on everything you say in this thread. Hi to the new guy.
I love metrics too. Never got anywhere near those numbers but I am 40, overweight and like a nice coffee or beer stop or two during the day

Probably ask @Ronald I think he did the Sella Ronda 3x in one day.
PS isn't the collective noun "A Rubbing of C***s"

@Dave of the Marmottes, liked you comment here, as I tent to say: "I am a enjoyer rather than a achiever", when I am in the mountains.
Ones told that to a man, who just finished climbing the 100 mountains in Japan, sitting in a mountain yamagoya.
He was quite for a long time, and I thought he did not understand English that well, only to turn to us after 10 minutes saying "I think I will do that from now on".
