Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Scrambler 8 v Scrambler Hot

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've got a choice between the Scrambler 8 and Scrambler Hot for my next ski trip. I'm an expert skier, but a little rusty and want something fairly easy handling. I really liked the old Scream series, so I'm hoping they will have a similar feel. Reading the descriptions on the Salomon website I'm thinking the Scrambler 8 might be the best option. I'll be skiing mainly on piste, but always look out for a little powder. I've heard a few stories about the S Hot being a little unforgiving, but bear in mind I used to blast around on 210 cm GS race skis many years ago - so my idea of unforgiving might be different! Seriously though, I'm interested to know if the Scrambler 8 is up to the job for an advanced but laid back skier or should I be looking at the slightly racier Hot?

Hello. Im a regular to the MK xscape and I tried the scramber 8 on a demo day from EB. They were great but didnt try the Hot becaise EB dont do it. I did enquire as I really wanted a go and was told by the Ski guy that they were good to ski but pretty pricey so he put me on the Bandit and they were really fun. Maybe go and try them or go to a shop and ask what they reckon. But I reckon the Scrambler 8 might be more fun than the Hot but not as good at speed. Im no expert but I did enjoy them but I dont know if it was enough to buy them.

uktrailmonster,
ask the guys in Leamington when yopu sort your boots, i think they have both of those along with a pile of other options, i have not skied either of these ones due to problems at the end of last season, but the 8 is a lot softer thsn the hot, are you renting, if so you may be able to try the 8 on day one then change if you find them too soft

Cheers, yes I'm going to rent them and they gave me a choice of these two skis. I'm sure I'll be able to swap anyway if I'm not happy. I'll ask their opinion in Lockwoods tomorrow. I'm thinking the S8 will be easier to ski than the Hot, but I was worried it might feel a bit dull on-piste.
