Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Help with the name of something

Poster: A snowHead
On my husbands bindings he is missing the smooth around the ball of the foot which allows the boot to easily slide out sideways. Without a name I don't know what to google to find th part.

Do you mean what used to be called the "anti-friction plate"? I noticed recently that on my newer skis these are now black not white as they used to be. There is a white piece on the sole of my boots that I would guess would line up with the now black plate on my toe binding. Might explain why I have slipped over couple of times while walking from my car to the lifts in that case wink

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@NickyJ, AFD or AFP, Anti Friction Device or Plate. It will almost certainly be specific to the binding model, or the manufacturer.

A picture or the make/model of binding would help.

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@NickyJ,
I lost one on my STH12's. I got a replacement from Snowtrax. Dan was very helpful.

I don't know the proper name but it's an important bit. I used to call it a Teflon pad but that's probably wrong. Spyderjon would know and might have spares. As @Samerberg Suesays some are now black but bindings vary. Good idea to get it checked.

Spyderjon was the one who noticed but didn't have the spares available at the time

Most likely you will need to contact the manufacturer direct or local stockist to order one....or a pair.
