In Shymbulak, Kazakhstan, they cannot afford helicopters or specialised explosives for avalanche control, so improvise using fireworks and a home made launcher.
You may spot the obvious flaw in their plan, which is that they are standing the path of the avalanche, but they have a novel solution for that
