Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New Boots/St Anton

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi

Going to St Anton for a week on the 29th Jan.Thinking that it is about time for a new pair of skiboots.

Had my current technica tnts, bought from jacques in tignes for approx 10/12 years and they are getting a little bit worn out.

Can anybody recommend or give (positive/negative) feedback on boot fitting shops/specialists in the St Anton area.

Cheers

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There used to be a custom boot making (making, not fitting !) service available in Lech (you can bus from St ANton). Can't remember what the name is, but I skied with a guy who swore by them.

However, I wonder if they would stand up to scrutiny in the modern age, as it's hard to imagine that a small company without a significant R&D budget could match up to the major manufacturers. I know most of what they proclaim as 'progress' is a marketing ploy, but I'm sure that some of the recent changes have been for the better.

Hi

Thanks for the feedback.

Just been looking on the strolz website.I didnt realize that you could still get boots made to that personalised standard these days.

I think that Alber may be the best place for me to go,nicely in the middle of St Anton main street and it looks like they have the experience and range of boots to ensure effective choice.including a look at the Strolz boot.

Had all the classic boot fit problems in the past,so it is a big decision to try and get another pair bedded in,but mine are just getting to that age.

I have a pair of Zipfit plug linings on order to try in my old technica shells, anybody any views on using them.

Cheers
