Some friends have gone to this resort..... They say its great, .. Ive never heard of it.. 310 kilometres of skiing.. !!! How come its never mentioned in the uk..

Putting "sybelles" into the search facility generated 8 pages of results!
I think they're particularly creative at measuring the length of the pistes. Compared with the big Tarantaise resorts, Les Sybelles is, IMV, not as varied and the different stations are spread out and only connected by an area of flatlands in the middle. Many of the slopes are south-facing and bare out particularly quickly later in the year.
I don't want to put them down too much but don't go there expecting a mega-resort.

I had tried to find it on the SCGB site with the reviews etc. but as mentioned its a sorawl of small places, its just that in the 35 years ive been skiing nobody has ever mentioned the place, i think rocket ski go there but none of the big TOs do, so i thought it was a poor resort.. The height of the resort is low so guessed they might struggle with snow. .. Im intrigued now .. Need to go there 😀😀

@yorkshirelad, the TO we use, Peak retreats, go to resorts in Les sybelles and I'd recommend them. They also have historic snow information on their website for some French resorts. I have not checked if its there for La Toussuire.

I have skied there twice including January this year. Can be good when there is plenty of snow but as mentioned above its low and lots of south facing slopes. Very cheap apartments and quite easy to put your own trip together. Snow probably not reliable enough for the big TOs.
