Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi, can anyone recomend a ski hire shop in Pila? Going on a last minute package deal this Sunday 13th March with a mate from work (hasn't skied for 10 years).
In fact any advice on Pila would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a big Interski base at the bottom of the main Gondola. I expect they would do private hires if you contact them.

@donsson, the main Gal is in Aosta right beside the gondola entrance, but there is a second GAL in Pila, at the top of the gondola (and bottom of two lifts up). Nearby is also a second place, think it's called La Roccia or something. Then there's another place past the car park and under the medical centre and another place higher up in the village behind the ice skating rink. I haven't hired so I can't recommend one but I imagine you'll get the same from all. Is it considerably cheaper to use SkiSet etc? You can take the gondola down to Aosta after buying your lift pass but it'll add 34 minutes onto your journey (17 each way)

@donsson, if Chalet des Alpes is where it says it is on google maps, La Roccia & GAL in Pila are what you want. Walking up into the centre of Pila (where the rink is) would be another 10/15 minutes
