Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

It doesn't need a great deal of snow, not that this answers your question. They regularly get by with thin cover in the Dolomites.

The main run from the top of the gondola is an epic. Fabulous area for scenery, atmosphere, drinking and eating. It'll be interesting to read your impressions, tp023, and welcome to snowHeads!

Thanks. I'm staying at the sport hotel. Reviews look great. Looking at various snow reports they should have a light sprinkling before we get there so let’s hope it's good.

Hidden valley at lagazoui [sp] is a very scenic run, highly recommended. check out the marmolada. the on piste in the area is a bit tame for my liking, the off piste offers some real challenges, plenty of couloirs. the local guides hang out at the coffee place in the town centre (under the neilson property) or ask at the ski school. skied with francesco tremolada a few season s ago, nice guy.

Thanks. What’s the nightlife like? Most reports say it's a bit quite. Any suggestions on bars?

The bar in the Hotel Portavescova is popular, but why do you want to leave the Sport Hotel (ever)....it's a really grand place to stay.
Cool Cool Cool

I stayed in the neilson chalet above the hotel (could see the hotel from my window) which was very basic

Peters Bar IIRC - You can't miss it.

There is quite a bit of dialogue on the area and especially the 'Hidden Valley' at Falzerego in this forum - a search here should be productive.

Great place, a bit quiet if you need more than a bar or three ( I don't BTW - 1 is enough ).

Enjoy and do report back.
