Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Alpe d'Huez Recommendations?

snowHead 's has served me very well over the years so I'm after some info for my up coming trip:

Best apre places, cheap and cheerful eats/not so cheap eats/somewhere for local fare both up the hill and in town. Also if conditions are right we're looking to hire a guide for a day? Something not to be missed (the swimming pool looks fun)? Any info would be appreciated.

My wife and I plus some friends are staying in the Bergers area and my mates who've managed to crash our cozy little party are staying in the Grandes Rousses on the other side of town. Thanks.

Well thanks HB! That's just the kind of insider knowledge I was looking for.

See if you can find Le Spot up the hill for a different lunchtime experience. Seats cut out of the snow with fur rugs draped on them! Quite hard to find though, cos you can't see it from uphill of it, or from any of the lifts. It's somewhere near the junction of Agneaux, Vachetts and Loup Blanc runs, assuming it's still there from 2 years ago.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The outdoor pool is fabulous, we had a great snow ball fight! Lots of great places to eat, all fairly affordable. Take a run down to Oz En Oisans, nice little village.
