Poster: A snowHead
|
Does anyone have any info about Chillan in Chile? I'm heading there for 3 months July-Sep 2016 and looking for advice/hints on accommodation options, slopes etc.
I'm not looking for work, just a chance to improve my snowboarding and Spanish All the websites focus on working visas etc, not on the practical elements of accommodation, good fun etc!!
Muchísimas gracias
Carrie

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Find a place in Las Trancas. That's where the workers, locals and visiting pros stay.
Cheaper and always a party on.
Chillan is superb. Most consistent snowfall in Chile in my experience.
Enjoy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

seconded what Mike said.
Las Trancas is quite small.
If you want more structured Spanish lessons Bariloche in Argentina is better, but the accent is different to Chileans. Chileans are easier to understand.
Oh, pisco sours are great too!
Disfruta Chile!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Been to Chillan about five times but only for a few days at a time and stayed in Las Trancas each time. If you like, I can put you in touch with someone who lives there for at least part of the season each year? Just let me know on here. Have fun.

Gracias, I've been to both Chile and Argentina before, just not in the winter. First priority is to snowboard! Looking for info on where to base myself for the season so that I can snowboard and meet people who speak Spanish rather than English.
