Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

boot liner packing down?

 Poster: A snowHead

so I'm three weeks into my new Scarpa Freedom SL's. felt nice and tight in the shop, a little 'too' tight to be comfortable, with the buckles on their loosest settings... boots are fine other than:
- I now have to have the ankle buckles on nearly the tightest 4th/5 ratchet, and the upper foot buckle on 3/5. feels like the liner has got thin. I'm aware this happens, but on my other pair of ski boots (fischer vaccum, normal downhill boots) this only happened after several years/ 10+ weeks.

my skiing's not changed _that_ much - is this liner shrinkage normal? will it expand back to the original fitted shape with a few weeks in a warm dry environment? I've been taking the liners out most days to dry out.

Seems quite a lot , and they use Intuition liners too.

You can move the top two ratchets though can't you?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I have intuition liners and found they packed down a lot around the ankle. I got a 'spoiler' stuck to the back of the liner (effectively a bit of extra packing to reduce the volume) and it helped quite a bit with the fit.

Have had the same problem with my SL's. So has my son and the boots are in taters after 50 days. Both started off too tight and now am swimming about in them. Was thinking about attaching extras to the outside of the liners.
