I'm not convinced a jet pack is an allowable item of equipment under FIS speed skiing rules?

I recon he is pretty serious about this. I was skiing with Graham a few years ago and we bumped into the fastest speed skier (Simone something or other) who Graham had done some training or ski sunday stuff with and he said he was keen to have a go at the flying K stuff but his body shape wasn't right to be aerodynamic enough for a proper challenge..

@skimottaret, Simone Origone? The only man I've ever seen teaching beginners on his 240s?
OK, "his body shape wasn't right" - that I can accept. Neither is mine. Nor my mental shape.
Good for him then.

Flex rating on boots is meaningless outside of comparisons with other boots in that manufacturer's range.
There are no standards for what it means.

My boots have a flex rating of 190.
Admittedly it's written on in felt tip.

Yes I know, just surprised to see 170.... Mine are 130, I've seen 150 just never seen a 'reported' 170 before, though clearly they are out there.

Not - quite - in my experience. I'd more or less, if I was switching brands and if I didn't just do what my bootfitter told me, start off trying the same flex I was in (unless I was modifying).

Going to ring atomic and see if I can get a pack of "170" stickers so I am clearly the hardest boots on the mountain.
