Poster: A snowHead

Hi,
I've got accommodation booked for hopfgarten on the 19thMar - 26th March. I am about to book flights.
A few questions
1. From everyones experience what is the best flight to get - Innsbruck or Salzburg?
2. Is it better to get to hopfgarten from the above airports from Rail or Bus/Coach Transfers?
3. If Bus transfer, what the cheapest place that everyone has used?
4. If rail, how easy/difficult is it, im thinking on the return date (26th) i'd want to hit the slopes, but rather worried if a train is cancelled or delayed.
thanks!!!!

I am staying in Hopfgarten from 12-18 March.
1. Flying to Munich. There are many flights a day from UK.
2. Taking a train to Hopfgarten im Brixental, 2 changes, about 2 hrs 30 mins. I got a special price from OEBB, Sparschein 19.00 euros.
The return fare is 31.10 from Woergl on Deutsche Bahn, plus the fare from Hopfgarten to Woergl.
3. There is an airport shuttle from Munich, 88 euros return. Details at Skiwelt airport shuttle.
4. Should be able to get at least a morning's skiing in when you leave, particularly if you get a late flight from Munich, up to 21:15 to LHR.
It is highly unlikely that there will be delays or cancellations on Austrian or German railways.

1. Definitely shorter transfer from Innsbruck than either Salzburg or Munich, but there are fewer flights to Innsbruck.
2. If Innsbruck, it's a 10 min taxi to Innsbruck station, then its about 30 mins on the train to Worgl, and then from there either a 10 min train or taxi to Hopfgarten.
3. No idea - not sure why you would use a bus transfer though, when the trains in both Austria and Germany are so good and well priced.
4. Very easy - there are usually loads of trains (you can look online - google), and as nigelg said, very unlikely there will be delays.

Personally I'd grab a taxi at Worgl, its not far, saves a bunch of time, and you'd probably need one from Hopfgarten station to the accommodation anyway.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@nigelg, you should also look at the DB Europa-Spezial tickets to get a good deal. As long as one of the stations is in a neighbouring country (to Germany) there is a special saver price for the ticket. I got to Vienna and back for 79 Euro (from Rosenheim) with just one change (at Salzburg). Free wifi as well on all the trains!

Flights booked to Innsbruck. Now for the train.
Coming back, what is the best time to leave if the flight is at 18:50?
