Poster: A snowHead

So I have booked a week in march, mega excited. Then I dawn on me. I have been on snow for about 5 years.
Now I had a season in NZ and went about 3 times a week if not more then 6 weeks in Japan 6months later. But that was the last time.
Do you think it's like riding a bike? Will I just need a few runs to get back and a day to boost my confidence?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Snowboarding only has 1 plank.
It is very easy to learn and maintain.
Will be fine if you're under 35.
If over that age, take refresher lessons.

Most people I've been out with after they've had a gap, even quite a long one, feel that after a morning back on snow are something near to back where they were when they last rode either board or skis.
Feels weird at first but you very quickly get the same sort of feeling back, I'd say try straight out onto it and see how you feel after four hours or so to make a decision about coaching etc.
Enjoy it anyway.

Thanks, I'll see how it is. I still surf and play Footy so the legs should be OK ish.

Down to the individual,TBH. I had somebody last season who hadn't boarded for about 4 years. Did the first couple of hundred metres down to the first chair and realised they couldn't do it. Lifty phoned the ski school office and they had a 2hr private lesson as a refresher (which was where I came in).

@KernowRed, you'll be back to your former level within a day or so. My mate rejoined us for the first time a couple of years back after not touching a snowboard for about 8 years, and was back up to speed within a couple of hours. My better half hadn't skied for about 15 years or more and was fretting about it, hired beginner/intermediate kit and that evening was sending it back across the counter at the clerk wanting double black expert kit and was in a store, buying boots before the end of the trip.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

You'll pick it in no time at all...unless you sucked before, in which case you'll still suck!
