Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Replacement Goggle Strap for (Giro) Helmet

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The goggle retaining strap has come off the back of my daughter's helmet. I should have thought about this the day we got back last year but... I didn't.

So now I need a new one fairly quickly. The helmet is a Giro Recruit and I can get a replacement part from the US but there's no guarantee it will be here in time.

Anyone know anywhere I can get a replacement in the UK?
Or anyone got any smart ideas for how to bodge it?

Have you contacted Zyro the Giro importers to the UK? Do you have the broken strap or is it long gone?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'll admit, I've been looking at this for myself as the strap came off my Anon Raider helmet, and despite telling myself I'd email Anon as soon as I got home last time... I didn't...

If you look on the glide & slide website, they have some American things called Goggle Grip Micro which might do the job for you. Seem to only have them in white or bright pink though - here's a link to the white one http://www.glideslide.co.uk/2267/products/goggle-grip-micro-white.aspx

No. I didn't know who the importers were.
I'm off to google 'Zyro' now but it you (or anyone else) happens to have contact details they'd be appreciated.

If you need one in a hurry, how about some gaffer tape as a temporary fix?

I had the same problem. I eventually managed to achieve a solution. Using a sticky pad from the GoPro bits I fixed one of those bag seal thingies you get in Ikea to the helmet.

Thanks. I phoned Zyro and it seems they are Giro distributors but only for bike stuff, taking on snow stuff from next season. They did give me an email address for the current distributor but I''ve not followed it up as...
