Afternoon guys,
I'm in the market for my first set of twintips. I currently have set of SkiBoards...as there known over in Colorado... you might know them as ski blades. Anyway I'm done trying to defend my self with these things, the constant abuse of "g@y blader" etc has really got me down. lol
can you guys help me with maybe some recommendations for twintips, brands ? and a decent enough place to get them..
Thanks
Nobby

I'd pop down to Skiplus and have a chat with them. Most of them at pretty knowledgeable but the guy (don't know his name) with the black hair, beard and glasses, really does know his stuff.
Also found a place recently I'd never come across before in Colchester called Fluid Lines. Smaller than SP, family run place and again, they really do know their stuff, probably more so.
We're pretty lucky in Chelmsford with so many ski shops nearby.

What are you looking to use them for - park, piste, hard-pack, off-piste, general all-mountain etc?

bought some Atomic Vantage Theory 177's last year as my first ski and love them. Could never commit before as only ski once or twice a year and liked to change ski with conditions but these are a really good all rounder and with tip, tail and rocker they ski like a much shorter ski. I'm 170cm tall.

I had twin tip Nordica Enforcers as my only ski for 6 years. Still use them sometimes in fact. They make some amazing all mountain skis at approx 98mm underfoot.

Definitely consider the whitedots. I have some of their park ones as an all mountain ski and have found them fun and stable at speed in park (small boxes/rails) and on piste (plus some side of piste) not taken them anywhere else yet as the snow was not really in existence at Christmas. Hoping to try them on the itineraries in March.

The first pair of skis I bought. Broke them at new year (I had done over 200 days on them by then, and hit a submerged rock), and will buy another pair. Friendly, fun and very versatile - they took me through my journey from intermediate to early expert, and I can't recommend them enough.
Not fat, so not really a powder ski, but capable enough off piste, great in the park and capable of precision carved turns, with a decent turn of speed. Lovely things.

I've run a old pair of twin tips for years and always had good fun on them, just looking to replace them now as they've done a lot of weeks and was looking at these Kastle XX90, they look good and go down to 165cm which I think would be a valid progression from your blades and the level of skiing you've rated yourself.

I used a set of Salomon 1080 Foils for a few years and found them great fun on piste and good fun in the rough just off the edge.
For reference I'm 178cm tall and the ski's were 174.
