Great skiing again from Dave Ryding- 16th- one of the best 2nd runs of the whole field. Tremendous stuff. The flat Lancashire plain produces top class skiers! Chapeau.

It's absolutely awesome being there. The Austrian crowd went bonkers every time someone failed to beat hirscher in the second run.
We of course went bonkers for Danny Yule & Dave Ryding.

You should be! You missed probably only Night race in history, when it wasn't snowing or raining

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

If only someone hadn't put Hirscher's goggle lens in the wrong way round for the first run (so anti-fog was on the wrong side and he steamed up) the result might have been different and the SL standings more exciting.
Respect to Ryding. Can't be easy performing in a cauldron like that.

@Pruman, possibly, but Marcel was also partially to blame for not taking the time to check his equipment, he has said so himself in interviews since the race. He was way too rushed coming out of the start - I've never seen him simply "rush" out without having actually taken the time to compose himself mentally and physically. To me it was indicative of the pressure he felt; the whole country was expecting him to win and anything less would be a "failure". With the rash of retirements and injuries this season, he seems to be carrying the weight of the nation's expectations for both the men and women as he is one of the few stars still standing.
