Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Amature Ski/board Hosting

So things seem to have gone quiet on the ski hosting front; various court cases rumbling on, which no doubt will reach conclusions and will be appealed, reviewed and appealed again. Various technological solutions; dry briefing; and fudges between ski schools and TOs etc.

I was wondering (and a quick search of SH did not reveal anything – could well be I missed something) if anyone had considered the establishment of an ‘Amature Association of Ski & Snowboard Hosts’ or similar? Perhaps something a little more formal than the meet-ups that are currently arranged via SHs. Would-be hosts could describe their general experience; knowledge of a given resort; if they were prepared to take people off as well as on piste; and their availability “every Monday from 10 …”. 'Followers' could pick folk they think might work well with them. Perhaps they could arrange a suitable meeting point for example outside an ESF office. As no money would change hands and no membership fee required from ‘followers’ can’t see any infringement of local legislation. TOs could make clients aware of such operations, but without a direct tie in. Might work as tourist guides do at some historic sites.
