On a slightly more serious note, there's always someone better than you. Many years ago (early 80s IIRC) I was climbing on the N. Face on the Tour Ronde and we could see people skiing down (I think) the Gervasutti couloir opposite on Mont Blanc de Tacul which truly astonished me at the time. Similarly having just come back from Jackson Hole, whilst I consider myself a reasonable skier, coming down some of the double black diamond runs there were young kids (I'd say teens and early twenties maybe) going down at a phenomenal rate and doing tricks off some of the moguls or boulders on the way down. Entertaining but made me feel very average !

It is skiing in my book but not the type you'd actually associate with the purist.

Very fine but the boys and girls of the Marlboro Ski Tour were doing this in the late 80s and you got cartons of free cigarettes afterwards (if you wanted them).

Having ridden trials bikes, motocross bikes, water skied, mountain biked as well as snow skiing, I find it mind boggling to see what some people can do on their chosen "weapon", the old hot dogging ski vids of the 80's where people were doing multiple flips, twists etc then still landing on their feet still impress me.
