Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi!
I want to go skiing in February (20 Feb) but none of my friends are around - I want to go to either Val D'isere, Val Thorens or Meribel.

Looking to join a group or for another solo skier to stay in a chalet! Smile

I am female, 25, beginner!

do you have to go that week?

those places?

As a beginner, there are other places that you in fact may enjoy more...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If a space in a group doesn't come up, put your request in the solutions room on chalets direct, with your profile, beginner skier - then come back here with your options. I think that is half term, but not yet half term for say the Dutch, which means Austrian resorts may be a good option.

Also, the Italian resorts, like the Dolomites - although there are more catered chalets in France, then Austria, then Switzerland. In terms of crowds, Austrian resorts will be better that week. Zell am Zee for example, or Fiss, or any of them really -

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@mojitogirl, the places you say are very good for intermediate and advanced skiers. I agree with @HeidiAmsterdam, that for a beginner there may be better places to go. But if a good deal is available in Val D, Meribel, Val T, they might be good for you.

It depends what you like to do. Will you have ski lessons? Do you want to do other winter resort activities or just ski? Do you want lively apres ski and nightlife? Where will you be travelling from? Does it matter how much you spend? Are you happy to make a late booking (1 week or less before departure) or prefer everything booked well in advance?
Hope this helps and snowHeads will offer good advice I'm sure.

@mojitogirl, ucpa through action outdoors sounds perfect for you. You can search for it on here, there are loads of threads. Or just give action outdoors a call - they are very helpful. Sorry for brief reply - on phone and about to head out.
