Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Good value mitts

Hi folks, I'm off to Lapland in a couple of weeks. Been before, and love it- but I do remember cold fingers/hands being a little tiresome some days.
Thinking about getting some mitts, from a search around on here Hestra and Black Diamond Mercury seem well regarded, but ouch- they're quite expensive!
Any recommendations on anything similar?

If it comes to it, I'll just go for the Mercury's- but thought I'd check first of all...!

Right, back to planning my snowmobile routes...

Kinco 901Mitts. Wear them with a silk inner glove and lovingly caress them with some glove balm for waterproofness and they're brill. Spyderjon and livetoski probably have them. Added bonus they form part of your lumberjack fancy dress/kink sessions

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Buy some when you get out there? One member of our party found his gloves to be inadequate for the low temps. All the gloves stocked in the local shop were designed for the local conditions. They were Finnish brands, none that I'd heard of, but they still get use on chilly days eight years later.

Hmm that's an idea. I know it's not the cheapest place by any means which I guess would be my only reservation. Shall dwell on that..

I am a complete convert to these........ http://www.gearpest.com/haglofs-expedition-mitten/. Pay a bit more but your hands stay warm even on long cold chairlifts. These are the business ! Lightweight too!

Think I'll go with what I've got, and if it's especially cold might just get mitts while I'm there.
If I buy expensive mitts now, I can guarantee it'll be no worse than minus 10 when I'm there Wink (maybe that's a reason to buy 'em!).

Bought some nice mitts in Tog 24 in the end for just under £30. Look perfectly decent and well designed for skiing with all the usual "bits".
With liners they should be nice and warm, though seem plenty warm without!

Yeah I've got a few already I'll take along. The forecast, although a bit early (going this weekend) is looking less cold than it has been, thankfully!
