Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any particular dates you are interested in? Most of the UK racing community will be there at half term, so I'm sure someone could provide updates around then.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm there from Feb 13th-17th with my family. Not for the racing - I didn't even know that was on so thank you for the heads-up.

Having skied (and walked...) in Selva and Les Gets already this season, I've seen how difficult it has been for resorts elsewhere in the Alps snow-wise. Although there's ages before we're there, I was wondering how Bormio is faring and hoping to get some updates from people in the resort as time passes.

I'm now wondering if/how the racing might affect our stay? On the positive side I'm sure we'll be interested to go and watch some of the races. But I hope it doesn't mean that a lot of pistes will be closed, or that the mountains will be overpopulated with speed merchants whilst we're skiing with our young kids. I've skied in various places when there's been racing on before (Selva before Christmas included) without any issues, but not sure I've been anywhere when there's been a whole championship running...

The racers shouldn't cause you a problem - they are still a minority on the hill and the pistes they use can easily be by-passed. Assuming conditions are okay, the racing takes place on the big wide piste mid-mountain above Bormio 2000 (Stella Alpina piste), and on the bottom half of the Stelvio piste below Ciuk. Full program is at http://britski.org/16engalp.htm

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

A gentle bump.

Any reports from Bormio or nearby would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
