Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Grenoble to La Tania at half term -transfer costs / car hire

I am travelling to La Tania at half term with a group of friends and family (17 in total).

We fly in to Grenoble.

Despite being in a group, we have decided to book own transfers as I am unable to find a transfer for the whole group that doesn't require full payment in advance and none of us has the energy or money to do this then chase the others for payment!!

I am shocked at the cost of a transfer for my family (4 of us) as it seems to cost the same for 4 or 8 people! I wondered if it's worth making the small saving hiring a car? Is it an easy drive?

The transfer is going to cost nearly as much as the flights!

I'm just going to have to suck it up, aren't i? A cheap transfer for 4 doesn't exist, does it?

It's an easy drive normally but half term isn't normal and a local taxi driver will be able to use shortcuts not available to you. A car might be a pain in resort too. especially if, as you hope, it snows a lot. Grenoble hired cars might not have winter tyres, either. there are some "find transfers" websites you can Google. A friend just got a good price but that's more likely now in January than in half term.

Can you not get 8 of your group to get together and share?
