David Beckham has reportedly offered £10million for a chalet in Verbier, as his wife is a new skiing "devotee". Would you sell it if it was yours?
Maybe we'll be seeing Mrs Beckham on snowheads soon......."can anyone advise a suitable family resort for 2 young boys, preferably with no paparazzi?"...........

Can inflat the price a bit if you tell the buyer that Martigny is only 10 miles away from Verbier and it got a hospital with a big helicoptor landing pad. Very handy if one breaks a leg on a slope!
They Swiss motorway junction Martigny Expo they come off also had super strong barrier at the bend and can take couple of G force against their super car. A friend of mine personally tested it and then tried the hospital too.

Historically you are expected to get your money back plus a big profit by the time you sell your house in future.
People buying a £10 million property is no different from you and the celebrities know their properties can command a price hike just for being associated with them.
We live in the same casino. The only difference is the size of our bets.
One thing I like skiing is that the size of the bet does matter if you want to tackle a slope. We are all equal against nature. The millions in one's pocket is not going to help him or her to come down the slope any easier. Chance is most of us can beat the Beckams 10-0 on any day, in any country and on any slope.

Beckham actually earns about £100k per week, which is £5m per year, so it's like 2yrs wages only - equivalent to an average person spending £50k on a house. What does that buy you nowadays?

I should think his totel earnings are sigificantly greater than that as well!
Question: Given the choice, if you were going to spend £10 million, which resort would you choose to buy a ski property?
Also, couldnt you buy your own mini ski resort for that price, fence it off and dont allow any jouno's in....that would solve the problem of ski queues as well!

Actually it's way less than 2 years work as he has stupid ad deals for Adidas and Police and Brill Cream and probably others (oh yeah Vodafone) so I would think it's under a years work so like you and me spending £25k on a house!
Although to be fair I think he works very hard for his money. All that having your head shaved and having to wear sunglasses must be difficult!!!
Let's ignore the £1m pink diamond ring he gave Posh - that'll just annoy me!!

I'd say the Beckhams have displayed suprisingly good taste in choosing Verbier. Of course, the whole story is probably fiction.

My guess is that if David Beckham were to take up skiing (for example, when his football career is over) he would very quickly become a very good skier. He is a highly coordinated athlete with excellent foot-eye co-ordination, which is absolutely what is required to become a good skier. (Apparently Bodie could have made it as a pro (Association) footballer in the US.

Definitely, if his contract allowed him to ski (which it probably doesn't) he would get very good, very quick. I once skied with an instructor who had taught Michael Schumacher to snowplough, and he said Schumacher was a spectacularly good natural skier, and he hardly needed teaching a thing, he had so much natural understanding of balance/feedback/dynamics and self confidence.

That's all very well but I've seen Colin McRae skiing and he sucks.
PS He also has a chalet in Verbier - all the best people!!

, but if I really owned it then perhaps 10million may seem a bit low expecially at 32,000 a week (which incidently is more than my first mortgage to pay over 25 years
