Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I get the point of the boot (basically a climbing boot that you can ski in), but I suspect that the market is pretty small.

I suspect that the boot is really a 'jack of all trades and master of none'. A perfect compromise if your day involves skiing to the base of a hard ice climb, or walking a long way to get to a spring snow patch - but the number of people doing those activities must be tiny compared to the hordes of alpine ski tourers.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Oceanic, I'm not sure that's quite right; the article stressed how much more comfortable the skinning was, especially when traversing and that's got to be a great thing for tourers. I would certainly be interested in looking at a pair but I have two problems:
1) the price tag, at $1000 it's probably too much for me Sad
2) It doesn't look like it has a lot of volume in it. I have very high arches and, for example, cannot actually get my feet into a pair of Dynafit TLTs even if they're several sizes too big. There are very few ski mountaineering boots that seem able to take my feet Sad
Still, I shall probably look out for them this season and see if they will fit.

In his review Lou Dawson described them as 'fairly large volume'

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Oceanic, thanks for pointing that out. I think I'll have to have a look at them, especially as I also see in that review that they have a non-carbon version at a slightly more affordable price Smile
