Just looking at the St Anton piste map and see Warth is now connected. Is it worth a visit and perhaps more importantly is it a reasonable day trip there and back from St.Anton itself (I mean by ski, not bus or tax)?

Be aware that Warth is not really connected to St Anton, but it IS connected to Lech/Zuers.
Coming from St Anton you need to get a bus from Alpe Rauz (close to Stuben) to the Lech/Zuers area from where you can get to Warth. You would need to reverse the bus trip on the way home.
Also be aware that the valley road from Warth to Lech is closed in winter, if you get stuck in Warth it's a very long taxi ride home.
The skiing around Lech is, in my opinion, superior to that around Warth but it's worth a visit.

I would say: the skiing in Lech-Zürs is Far superior to that in Warth. (There are some reasons why Lech is so famous for so long already, and Warth is not.....)
Be sure to first discover that before venturing to Warth, which is a lift-lift connection (no piste), and the pistes in Warth are rather short, and getting back from Warth to Lech rather tedious.
And as mentioned: from St.Anton you'll need a bus anyway to get to Lech-Zürs-Warth. The lift between St.Anton and Zürs will be built this coming summer

Another bus option, but it will cost a few euros, is the Post Bus direct from St. Anton to Lech, getting off at the Oberlech cable car stop and up to the slopes to make the connection to Warth.

They linked Warth/Shrocken with Lech two seasons ago after many years of delays. IT IS WORTH a trip especially if you hire a guide in Lech and ski over to Warth which of course is all off piste. You can't ski back so you will need to ride the gondola back to Lech which takes about 10 minutes. If you aim to leave St Anton on the first bus (post Bus) or ski as early as you can to Alpe Rouze then take the free bus it is easily doable in a day. Last season though I was based in St Anton, I took every opportunity to get to Lech and thence to Warth on occasion. It is waaaay less busy than St Anton and far more civilized. I was based in Lech for 5 years and would say its the best place by far, not simply for the skiing but as an all round place to visit. Make a point of doing it at least once just to see for yourself.

We skied in Warth for the first time last year & loved it! Definitely doable from St Anton. Very different skiing to Lech or St Anton, so a nice change to mix it up through the week. We liked it so much we looked into staying there this year but just couldn't make the prices work for us.
The only struggle we had was trying to find our way back to the connecting lift in a white out - we kept missing our turn & going down the wrong piste. Never been so glad to see a lift station appearing out of the snow in my life!

Does anyone know how big the Warth / Lech / Zurs ski area is in terms of km's of runs?

Looking at a deal for January that Ski Total have got for their Lech chalet hotel and was wondering how big adding on Warth made to the ski area without having to get the bus to St Anton

Ski Total have 3 Chalet hotels pn Lech. Elizabeth is by far the best, Montfort is central a bit smaller and the Sonneck is waaay out of town, old, delapidated and you NEED to bus to the village. Choose carefully.

@Old Man Of Lech, I was looking at the Sonneck for Mid-March £200/head cheaper than the other two Ski Total chalets for the week. Is it really that bad? I don't particularly mind bussing it in, but don;t want to stay somewhere dilapidated!

@Old Man Of Lech, thanks for your help, just booked the Montfort for the 10th January as it was a little cheaper and smaller, which I felt would be better as there's only 2 of us. Hoping for a little more snow now.

Going to Warth for our first visit and very much looking forward to it (never skied Lech either). Any tips on gems of mountain restaurants to look out for on the slopes?

We were recently in Lech and went to Warth one day. Really enjoyed it, but not sure I'd do it from St. Anton. If you're just going to Warth from Lech it's a short cable car ride to Oberlech, then a chair, then a short run down to the gondola going to Warth, and then another lift ride before you do any skiing. If you're skiing above Oberlech it doesn't seem like a big deal. The day we did it we had done most of the Weisse Ring but instead of skiing back down to Lech we skied to the transfer lift and went to Warth. Perhaps the runs in Warth are somewhat short, but we enjoyed it a lot. It's all good.

Just back from St Anton and spent a day there. We were in St Christoph and taxied to Lech. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The on-piste skiing is very cruisey but pleasant and not much of a challenge, but the amount of safe off-piste to play in just off the pistes was brilliant. Never had so much fun off-piste before!!

Since this thread has popped up, it seems worth mentioning that a new lift, the Flexenbahn, is planned for next season to link Zürs with Stuben/Alpe Rauz - details (in German) here. Then it will be possible to ski from St. Anton to Warth. And that will make the Arlberg the largest linked ski region in Austria.

There's an article in this month's Fall Line magazine about Warth. It paints it as a kind of untracked off-piste paradise, which I wouldn't entirely agree with having skiing over there last week - it seemed just as tracked out as Lech by midday. First lifts on a powder day would be great though for the easily accessed areas between the pistes. It was pretty quiet compared to St. Anton though with no lift queues. We found it to be a good day trip from St. Anton taking the Postbus at 8:40 to Zurs, skiing over for lunch in Warth and taking the Zurs Postbus back around 16:00 - with a couple of runs in Warth in addition to 4 or 5 in Zurs/Lech on top of those required for the journey.
