Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Long Weekend Alp D'Huez February

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Folks,

I have a couple of days annual leave to use up before the end of February and don't want to waste them on the sofa! Have a friend doing a season in Alp D'Huez and would like to go out Wednesday-Sunday early Feb. Will this be an issue in terms of school holidays and most hotels and accommodation being Saturday-Saturday rentals? All help is welcome!

Cheers,
Al

AdH is a pretty short transfer so you shouldn't waste to much time travelling, less than 2 hours, so it's certainly doable. For the best deal on accommodation you'll need to get your mate to ask around in resort in advance otherwise there are a few apartment blocks where you should find something, no chance staying with your mate (mattress on a floor job)?

Your biggest prob is the limited flights to and from Grenoble, although travelling back un a Sunday shouldn't be hard to find. Try the Tour Op's for their flight only deals, you may drop lucky if any of them offer 10 day hols in the region.

French holidays start on 6th so before then will make it more likely that you'll be able to get accommodation. There are only flights to/from Grenoble at weekends this year but Lyon isn't much further. Airport shuttle to Grenoble then local bus to resort

Have decided to fly to Lyon and rent a car, prices seem good for 4 day hire. Next stop accommodation! Thanks for the advice
