Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Huge congratulations to Ray Zorro for passing his IASI L1 on what sounded like a tough course.

Well done! And welcome to the mad gang!

Aw, thanks...

I've still got the shadowing and first aid to do before I officially get the badge! And I recognise that my skiing is still a work in progress - but to have reached an acceptable level in the technical and demonstration part of the actual skiing is very pleasing!! Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks to snowHead PSG for delivering the course - I learned loads!

Laughing Well, welcome! And congratulations. WHow does IASI differ from BASI?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
IASI is the Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors, the qualification is the same standard as BASI L1 and recognised in the same way (so I believe).

I think that they are broadly similar as bodies, though I've been told that IASI are smaller and much more friendly. The main difference is probably in the amount of Guiness!!

Hemel have very strong links to IASI and unless candidates particularly want to go with BASI, they will encourage candidates to at least consider the IASI route. The course timing (12x wednesday evenings) particularly suited me and there has been a lot of negativity about BASI recently, so I'm very happy to go Irish!

@Ray Zorro, Well done lad. I'm in the middle of the 6 weeks training at the minute on the slope in Kilternan, Dublin and will be doing the assessment in January hopefully. Great crowd this side of the pond too. Come over sometime for a slide a " coffee " and maybe even a few pints of the finest creamy black stuff Toofy Grin Toofy Grin Toofy Grin
