Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My stepson L worked for Evergreen in 13/14 and another friend went in 14/15. (We have been to visit them both so got a feel for the place too). If you want English speaking then they are your only real option in Hakuba Happo One. I'm sure they can fix you up with a private instructor. L certainly did private lessons while he as there. I don't think you will find any completely independent English speaking instructors. The standard of instructors does vary (they will take BASI L1s for example, but realise they can really only be used to teach the tots). L was a BASI L2-he did well, and the kids loved him. He did teach adults, but only after he had proved he was put to it with the kids. My impression of Evergreen from the outside was that they were a friendly bunch, with some high end quality instructors and off piste guides in the mix.

Hi Perty,
reading things like "I had my 5 year old booked into evergreen for a week. He had a great time, although I felt it was very much a production line!! (1)Take child there, (2) Hand over cash. (3) Pick child up.... There was no 'personal touch'"
worried me especially with a young kid, who having a good time is imperative to me keeping up my skiing addiction Very Happy

Surprised that the Hakuba area doesn't have private instructors for children.

Plenty in the Niseko United, Rusutsu and Kiroro resorts on Hokkaido.

Well it's an Austrailian (and Welsh Madeye-Smiley ) area up north!

But taking a Japanese instructor for children is ok IMOH, (sorry Mike). They learn a lot of other stuff in that way as well. (However by now you must almost be Japanese).

 You know it makes sense.

I have no problem with them being Japanese, in fact I would prefer it in some ways.....
my issue is finding someone, I would like some very basic English such as cold, toilet, ouch but thats it.....

Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

http://happo-ski.info/eng

You can give them a "call" however you might end up with somebody from around the world. Puzzled

We always ask for a local, where ever we go.

There are more Japanese schools, but it is difficult to google, (you end up on the exiles pages). Try to go through the Japanese pages. http://vill.hakuba.nagano.jp/english/

On each off the ski areas there are links to different schools.

(if that is what you want.)
