Hi just wondering if the snow has arrived in Soll yet? I'm not sure what thread I should look at as not sure of the areas in Austria, but we are looking at a holiday in Soll for beginning Jan but not ready to book until I know snow has arrived.

The SkiWelt website (www.skiwelt.at) has live webcams and weather forecasts/lift status (updated daily I think), for the whole ski area. Soll is looking like its got a good base at the moment.
The area doesn't need meters and meters of snow becuase the underlying ground is pasture rater than rocks. As long as it stays cold they'll also be able to run the cannon. I know its not the "same" as natural snow, but its still something to ski on.
In the Soll sector, the Rinner run is usually about the last to open, but even last year when it effectively didn't snow until boxing day, on our holiday starting 27/12 pretty much everything was open.

I just had a look at the webcams there - made me very nostalgic for Soll, my first skiing holiday. I spent a lot of time on those pistes around the Soll webcam, to begin with sat in the snow as much as anything else. Such a great place to ski, and a lovely village.
