Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm so excited, I thought I'd packed my kit away for the year after snowbombing. Looking forward to digging it all out again!

15 days or so until the Bank Holiday - is there any chance of lift served skiing being available anywhere in Scotland that weekend?

My wife says it is snowing in Glasgow. And check out Glencoe website. Tons of snowfall.

Take your own (decent) skis or use rentals? This is not a dig at Scottish skiing, it's a genuine question for the locals.

If you go to the Marie curie shop in hyndland road glasgow you can get a decent set of rossi zenith 10s I handed in

Yeah, snowing quite heavily (but very wet snow) in Glasgow city centre this morning, so I'd imagine they'll have got a good few inches up north at least!

Typical bank holiday-weekend weather eh?rolling eyes

Very wet at Glencoe this am and lifts on hold at Cairngorm. Tomorrow not looking much better.... Confused Disappointing - but seemingly vindicated in our decision not to go up.

So it's ski touring from here on in - unless Cairngorm stays open on May weekends.

Perfect day yesterday Laughing One of the best i`ve had at Cairngorm. Bit busy but the snow conditions were fantastic. Need to get myself some touring kit, skied down off the summit but it was a nightmare trek up with my heavy skis.

@Deedee, I understand that Cairngorm is intending to open weekends but it might be advisable to take a picnic as the Ptarmigan restaurant is closing for two weeks, there is of course the Storehouse but it is at the bottom of the hill with the only way down by the train.

We made the decision for Glencoe on Saturday, snow conditions were excellent, the weather was fine with some good sunny spells and a few nice dry snow showers. Spring run was in cracking shape and half way through the day they opened Flypaper (closed for Avalanche risks earlier).

Ridiculous temperatures in the west Laughing - mind it was 22C at Loch Morlich after a glorious last day of the lift-served season at Cairngorm on Sunday gone.

Where was everyone? Lovely spring snow; mainly sunny; skiable back to the middle station (just). Run of the day was the West Wall - nice and steep with wide cover. It was closed but we skinned back up the Ciste.

Might be back for more (ski touring) this weekend Very Happy - weather permitting.

Just saw your post AndAnotherThing.. - we were at Glencoe yesterday.

Wall to wall sun; 19C at the car park at close of play; 15 mins walk to the snow from the top of the access chair; skinned up from there; approx. 400m vertical available - got down to within about 75 m of the Cliffhanger Chair at the end of the day; crunchy snow on the ascent turned to lovely spring snow in the sun - a fantastic day out Very Happy.
