Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone been so far this year? Is it same old stuff or worth making the effort?

Thanks.

No Manchester showing this year. Haven't been for a few years, they would always use the big multiplex cinemas which are rotten to get to

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Amazed that it's showing in Exeter, we usually get passed over by most things. Might make the effort to go and watch it, although suspect it's much the same as the usual.

I think they are almost guaranteed the samey collection of young and not so young ski bum types flitting around the world doing their 10 minutes.
Still a nice way to get the season rolling.

Last year's film was the same as every previous film - lots of cool, young skiers, some lame attempts at humour, too little actual skiing and not enough explanation of where exactly they were. I tend to go, say to myself that I'll never go again, and then a few years later going to the next one, being disappointed, and then repeating the cycle.

Yep, saw it in Reading on Monday evening. I enjoyed it a little more than last years edition I think. Good soundtrack too. No merchandising at the cinema this year though, the distribution arrangements are different now, do its just a regular film at the Cinema, rather than an event. so If you go for the freebies forget it. If you want to see a good ski movie go.

@Bob, that's a shame. One of the reasons that made it worth going was the whole 'event' feel.

There was one on BT sport last night, can't remember the name as I was flicking through but the same god awful narration was there.

@homers double, It was called Journey; no different from any of the others that I've seen! Same old skiers doing the same old stuff - heliski in Alaska etc etc. Small excerpt on skiing, trekking and canoeing in Morocco.

Sky Sports had a Warren Miller season a couple of years back. I was something of a captive audience with a leg in plaster. Ten days of Warren Miller and his oft-repeated catchphrases was just a bit much! Madeye-Smiley
