Can some give me advice on what are a good pair of goggles. Good in bad light and go well with ski helmets of any description.

Helmet issue a bit tricky! Colour? I like my Uvex "ultra gold" (or something like that). I reckon you need a yellow-orange tint for bad light.

The Adidas Yodai, with the ORANGE lens, are meant to be good, although I haven't actually used mine yet. They are a bit smaller I found than the average goggle so fit my face better than say Oakley Wisdoms. Also a nice simple design. They fit a Giro fuse helmet but best to try out the goggle with the helmet.

I have the yodai with the orange lens as cathy mentions..... they are superb and very comfy, great view, as if they arent there. I love the white design too!

Googles compatible with one helmet model might not fit with another so best to test in store before purchase.

On the same sort of topic, I rather like the idea of the new Bolle Nova model with light sensitive lenses (they also to the OTG X500 with phototropic lenses). This sounds like such a sensible idea! Only thing is they come in vermillion OR citron shades (both light sensitive). Does anyone have any thoughts on which would be better? Both apparently range from 28-66% light allowed in. The obvious answer is to try some when we're in Courchevel at the end of the month, but obviously the price would be higher there
Another question: I currently have a pair of Carrera chameleon, I think, in hyperred. Is red a particularly bad colour for flat light? And would I notice a big difference in quality between Carrera and Bolle? The Carreras do fog up from time to time I find, especially if I cover my mouth.

I went to Ellis Brigham at Castleford on Friday. I tried on goggles - which I wanted for flat light as mine are not brilliant. Trouble was, in the artificial light you can't tell anything about them. They all (yellow/orange ones) appeared the same and as the shop is in a centre, you can't nip outside with them. And the little labels on them didn't go into much detail - not like the websites do. The guy there was very nice but didn't quite get that I couldn't care less what the colour of the frame was, just how the lens would perform  .
In the end I decided to buy in resort. Any good shops in Plagne, anyone?

Although what the difference is between "extra perception" and "great all-round depth perception" I'm not quite sure. I think I would probably incline towards the vermillion because the red tint of my Carreras were what I liked best when I bought them (few years ago now)
