Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

WANTED

A proper ski tech to teah me how to tune, wax and edge skis.

I'm based in the Brighton area.

I wanted to book into Edge and Wax bootcamp half day course but they are only now running a full day certified ski tech which I don't need!

Also got in touch with Jon at the Piste office but he's based in Nottingham and its a bit far.

@The Danno, book it with Jon , I only did one session a few years back , but it's been invaluable and saved me a fortune , also adds a very knowledgeable friend to your ski network snowHead

The Danno, If you want something to watch, the Downhill Only ski club produced a DVD that is well regarded, might go into a bit too much detail for recreational skiing though.

Actually, I taught myself everything from youtube. There are lots of resources there. Just make sure you have all the gear you need before you start, and always start on edges before waxing.

Its not rocket science although if you get into it there are plenty on nuances to master, at which point getting the one on one tuition might be beneficial.
