@Hurtle, I'm probably not the best person to answer, but wholesale changes have been promoted on the basis of modernisation, without any specifics as to why any individual change is necessary. Others have said that the changes tend to increase the power of the board and executive at the expense of the membership and/or that the changes are intended to legitimise past or current practices that break the existing articles.

Not the best thing to do with an impending court case. Just who are the board getting advice from ? Even Wile E. Coyote was not that self destructive.
