Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looks really nice and more skiing local to it. Kitzbuhel is 40 minutes away and mayrhofen the same in the other direction.

@Ricklovesthepowder, don't forget you will need winter tyres if you are driving in Austria and Germany in the winter.

@Hells Bells, thank you. These are on the to do list and was going to do it. Stupid question, are M&S and the snowflake symbol the same thing or different?

@Ricklovesthepowder, M&S plus snowflake are the best option.

@Ricklovesthepowder, you are just down the road to me, about 25 minutes drive - lovely location by the way and Kufstein is a great place on New Year's Eve.

@Samerberg Sue, great stuff. Thank you for your info. We were going to head to Salzburg on NYE, but if you think Kufstein is good on NYE then we may extend our trip and just stay there. Can you recommend where some easy soles are for skiing? Mrs RLTP had the basics, but it's a confidence issue. Wide open low graded slopes would be ideal.

@Ricklovesthepowder, better still I can recommend a really good instructor who lives just down the road from there. He is one of my physios and he and his wife's family are part owners of the Sudelfeld ski area. http://www.alpenplus.com/sudelfeld/ Great guy and really good with nervous skiers. He and his wife helped me back on to skis both literally and psychologically after I'd had to have a badly repair ACL redone. Stefan Spörer is his name and I can ask him how best to contact him (I see him regularly for ongoing treatment any way).

@Samerberg Sue, that would be brilliant and I would really appreciate that. I would love to get her some private instruction where we can both be there and hopefully he can help me to I prove as well! I think w few drinks may be in order for you! Thank you so much

Let me see if he is willing. Sadly I'm not around when you are down here as I spend Christmas and New Year in Sportwelt Amadé, but I'm sure you will be back sometime soon

Also what do the snow conditions tend to be like around the Christmas/new year period? This will be my first time to Austria.
