Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Where do you experts recommend for the first week in April! We need access to ski school for a six year old at least. We are two beginners to intermediates.

At the moment it's between les deux alpes and also thorens taking a Motorhome!!!

Which is likely to have best snow in resort for beginners ski school?

One question is at what altitude you want to sleep? This will affect temperature and sleep; some people don't sleep well at altitude. Plenty of resorts will have snow in the first week of April. Look for one with slopes with varied aspects and not closing before the third week ( ie don't go on the last week before lifts close).

Where have you skied before? What sort of thing do you like and dislike?

Les Deux Alpes will be fine then. The motorhome park is at the resort entrance, not a particularly attractive site though. Providing the snow is still sufficient then a short walk and a couple of lifts will get you up the mountain. About 10 minutes walk to the ESF meeting place for 6 year old. 15 minutes or so walk though to the centre of the resort in the evening.

@stacetop, there's also a caravan site at Montchavin, part of La Plagne but very central to the whole Paradiski domain. The Evo2 ski school is good - I have not used them for kids as I don't have them but another snowhead comments here: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=106515#2650444.

@Claude B, Is there another one at Venosc? From there there is a telecabine the centre of les 2 Alpes, but persoanlly I would not like to take/carry a 6 yo to and from the lift every day. For me it is essential to have ski in / ski out accomodation for children.

@johnE, Definitely camp sites etc in Venosc and the lift up doesn't take long. Keeps running until 8pm I think.

Venosc could be very pleasant in April. Warmer nights, primroses, some apple blossom and maybe even the odd cow!
