Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bony ankles - resolved

Went to Profeet today and got fitted up with a nice pair of Technicas, I should say I was impressed with the method of boot fitting and the care they took. The Technicas seem to have lot more padding than my old Raichles - for the type of skiing I'm doing nowadays they will be lovely. Looking forward to testing the boots out on the snow!

Incidently, earlier in the week Snow&Rock had tried to get me into a pair of boots a size or even a size and a half too big!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

roberto, that's good news. It may be worthwhile testing them out at a snowdome if you can get up there as profeet are more than happy to make adjustments - better to do this before your hols in the snow than after.

Did they have to stretch the boot/foam-inject liners or did the Technicas fit your feet well anyway?

Cathy, out of the three boots chosen as being right for my shaped of foot, the Technica "diablo flame" were the the most comfortable straight off, but they needed stretching over my ankle bones, though that would be needed whatever boot I had. The Technicas have the standard heat-fit liners which come with that model of boot and they are supposed to mould to the shape of the foot.

I'll take them up to a dry slope at the weekend for a test.

There was another comfortable boot (for my foot shape), a Rossignol Bandit, but I was put off by the unconventional rebound-flex which seemed rather gimicky to me.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

roberto, Mr C was first of all meant to have the Rossi Bs but they couldn't stretch the shell without it reverting back to its original shape - and they had the boots for a week trying to do it. So probably just as well you didn't go with them unless there was no need for those to have the shell stretched.

Cathy - that's really appreciated. If the Rossi Bandits wouldn't have taken the stretch (which would be essential for me) then it could have mean't a lot of messing about.
