Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

9/10 year olds in Obergurgl from 13 Dec for lesson share

Younger son been skiing 4 times. Has had private lessons. Not keen on group lessons as all day only option. Anyone have a child who would like to share private lesson ? 2 hours each morning ideal. OK on reds and blues but is quite cautious. Couple of kids in a group might be more fun than just with instructor ?

As an instructor in Obergurgl I´d just like to advise that it´s really hard for us to teach private lessons with people of different abilities and or ages. When it happens we often waste a lot of expensive time getting between different ski areas to suit both levels. Either that or one of the children will benefit greatly while the other not so much.
The advantage of group lessons is the ability to swap around between groups to ensure that the ability level within the group is similar. Also the age/size of the children is important.
Obviously there should be a bigger learning curve with a private instructor but it can prove a lot more fun and beneficial for children to be in the group course. Especially if the children aren´t already friends or family to begin with.
