Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cycle Scotand's highest road - The Lowther Hills Snowball Sportive - Sunday 4th October

This is a heads up, and call to wheels for the Lowther Hills Snowball Sportive.

The Lowther Hills Ski Club are partnering with the organisers of the 3 Pistes to host this very rarely granted sportive route. The estates and NATS have kindly given our ski club permission to run the event as a fundraiser (we may be considering using something else with some 'provenance' from the Pennines wink ) and numbers are strictly limited to around 250 riders maximum. Ski club volunteers will be at hand all over the Lowther and Moffat Hills to support the professionals, the mechanics, the paramedics and broom wagon drivers. Changing, showers, hot food and pub grub available at the start/finish in Wanlockhead.

Three routes available. Full website coming soon Cool

Depending on getting permissions in the future, this could be a one-off, or it could grow into something much bigger. Either way, it's an opportunity to ride some awesome roads over a sportive route that hasn't been granted for nearly 10 years, in good company, with professional support and for a very nice cause Cool

I've ridden the road from Thornhill several times, it's part of the route and Britain's third highest climb. The descent from the summit goes on forever but of course that works both ways ...
