Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We are flying into Munich over half term and driving straight to Austria. Are there border controls and checks as we head towards Salzburg?
Thank you!

Random checks, yes.

Did the same journey 10 days ago - no stop going into Austria, but did get stopped coming back to Germany.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Any issues returning to Germany? Was it just vaccination certificates and passports?

@AlwaysFalling1, Just a cert and passport check, yes. Cheerfully (well as cheerful as German police officers get), waved on our way.

@NickYoung, German police way more laid back than Brit counterparts in my experience. My memories of getting stopped & searched on suss in Brighton did not leave a good impression!

@Steilhang, They were efficient, polite and calm - no drama. But they never cracked a smile either.

@AlwaysFalling1, we drove into Austria from Germany (drove the whole way from UK) on 15th January all equipped with our PCR test results, and the motorway vignette, but no sign of anyone on the border around 16.30 somewhere like Niederhausen (sp) and when we drove home last Saturday 5th there were a couple of German guards on their border but just standing with arms folded. There were a couple of vehicles over in their tented area but couldn’t see where they were from. Huge number of vehicles from Poland that weekend.
