Sad news. Only visited there once and is my favourite of the après venues I've been to in my day trips to ischgl from kappl. I've got a video of him making some comments about my then 6 year old partying on the dance floor

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

He was a legend in Ischgl apres at his amazing bar, and also a great skier.

Very, very sad to hear. He was a real legend in Ischgl and will be really missed. He was a man who truly lived life to the full, a real larger than life character.

Now there's a man who was not too precious to wear sunglasses with a helmet! Such considerations are for punters. The shots at the end, with his family, are specially nice.

He was anything but a punter. He was on the junior Austrian ski team with Franz Klammer before injury put an end to his racing career. As it happens I wear sunglasses with a helmet but I'm still a punter. Thousands will miss him. He was probably the best known man in Ischgl.

Shame there weren't some pictures of him actually skiing. I just thought it was such a contrast - a real mountain man, relaxed in his sunglasses, whereas lots of "holiday skiers" make heavy weather of such trivia.
